Foundation and Membership

EPOH is a non-profit organisation, founded in 2021, whose members are the national professional associations in the field of Occupational Hygiene across the European Continent. Its overall purpose is to improve, promote and develop the professional practice of Occupational Hygiene at a European level.

 

EPOH was founded to improve, promote and develop the professional practice of Occupational Hygiene at a European level, improving worker health protection and preventing occupational illness and disease. In 2016, several occupational Hygiene (OH) organisations joined together to form the EPOH.

EPOH is a single focal point for occupational hygiene representing over 3600 occupational hygienists. It has unique access to scientific occupational hygiene knowledge and skills to contribute to the discussion, development and implementation of worker health protection initiatives, legislation and competency.  EPOH’s legal status allows it to engage and influence stakeholders at a European level.

Creating more visibility of occupational hygiene as a profession at European level

Promoting the harmonization of occupational hygiene related methods, standards, guidelines

Serving as a contact point and discussion partner for Europe level institutions and organisations

Contributing to schemes of training, qualification or certification in occupational hygiene in a European context

Exchanging occupational hygiene knowledge and practical field experiences

Strengthening the communication and collaboration between the different European associations

Objectives

Through our activities we have commented on legislative proposals, presented at events and meetings, provided webinars, taken part in discussions with external stakeholders and led or taken part in workshops.
